- Identify whether the equipment contains significant capacitance or a DC bus
- Follow the OEM waiting-time guidance after power removal
- Verify residual voltage with the correct meter before contact
- Confirm any bleed/discharge path is intact if the design depends on it
- Treat the circuit as energized until verified otherwise
